What to watch

This weekend we start the Abbott World Marathon Major season in Tokyo. The NN Running Team will be back in action in the Japanese capital!

Gideon Kipketer, who placed second in a personal best of 2:05:51 in 2017, will return to Tokyo after a fourth place last year. He will be joined by Ethiopian talent Birhanu Legese (2:04:15 PB) who is only running his third marathon.

NN Running Team athlete and pace maker, Noah Kipkemboi, will set the pace for the men’s race.

Two strong women will also compete in Tokyo. Experienced Florence Kiplagat, who is a former world champion and world record holder in the half marathon.  She is also a double Chicago and Berlin marathon champion. Upcoming marathon athlete Mimi Belete, who has won the 2018 Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon in a new course record, will join her.
